She lay herself out in the morning sun

bright rays bathing under the oranges and yellows

of his rising to greet her, foaming waves rolling

over rocks of times, sand in an hour glass,

bearing gifts from deep below,

sand dollars presented on a bed

of emerald green sea weed,

clam shell necklace strung

together with pearls

accenting the irridescent glow

of her smile.

Dancing dolphins mount cresting waters,

ride on split tails, spritzing neptune's

trident shining brightly as it breaks

the veil between air and sea,

pointing the way to heaven,

mermaids stroking their manta rays

while sea horses ride wildly

encircling his crown and dashing forward

towards the siren's song,

two bold islands in the distance,

inviting, enticing, deep dark wonders

to explore within caves hidden

dependent on the rise and fall of the tide.

She lay herself out in the morning sun,

and in time the pink purple haze dipped

down into the horizon and brought onto

her body the first kiss of the moonlight,

falling stars hitting the air like pebbles

skipping the top of an otherwise

still lake, the ripples of which were felt

from one end of the shoreline

to the other.
