She suckled me at birth,

She nurtured me while growing,

She taught me right from wrong,

Everything in my head is from her knowing…

Blue are my eyes, like that of my mom, the ocean,

Ran on mom’s beaches when young without lotion,

Swam in her waters till I looked like a prune,

Played all sorts of games in and amongst her dunes…

Rode on a surfboard her biggest waves,

Learned from her how to in her behave,

She used to say, “My blue waters are not a toilet,”

Human fluids are just so much pollution,

Still after all these years, to keep her clean,

Man & “mom ocean” have not come up with a solution…

It is sad how man still poisons the very thing most of us seem to love so much...the sea.

A very touching write about the pollution of our oceans. It's just a shame. The ocean is such a beautiful place to play.

Now, Ed, if we could only find a way to keep those
medical supplies from washing ashore (from wherever they come).

You did it again, made me long to swim in the ocean. This is a superb write and I cam imagine you growing up in that atmosphere. Lucky guy you were.

And the battle continues. The more greed man has, the more Mom will suffer ... powerfully penned, Ed.
