Across is Mississippi, Got Nothing Down

High on a train.
"On a high train-?"
No rails,  no fences.  Air
is all that keeps from
falling.
Don't look.

Rented Ford.  Old
Muddy looms.  Endless
bolt of silt-yellowed silk.
Whorled and rippled
unless the mist distance
puddings fools.  Up, up,
up. Crossssssssssssssssssss
sssssssssssssssssssssssssss
ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
then down from the bridge
giant spiders spun
until Memphis squashed.
Hold your breath.

In a taxi.  Driver Ben Laden.
On a jet.  Taxiing whisps of fog
ghoul gray and brown.
Despair.

On a jetway.  In an airport.
Slumped before a carousel
rife with others'
baggage.  Around.
Around.  Around.  Other.
rumble's  hunger.
Grit clogging eyes
from a tourist-
flying sandman?
Will you meet me?
If you meet me, will you be
here for me, or you.
Fight-or-flight tugs
at an elbow, then crawls
up a spine.  Hey!
That's my bag!
Run

I love the way you write: an immediacy (is that a word) of imagery puts the reader right where you want them to be, and make them glad for having taken the trip. :) Well done, (((Pea)))!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Love the crosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss part. Don't like bridges. LOL
