Places of worship are many and diverse.

Sandalwood mingles in heavy air

embracing the pungency of incense

shadowed figures play upon halllowed walls

projected in the dancing candlelight

hooded figures bow

chanting in prayer's loud whispers

this ancient temple

where spirits find refuge

mankind entereing

to cleanse the daily accumulated evil

from their souls

in a journey for divine guidance

not simple minded impetuous men are they

but scholarly men who pray

purging self-aggrandizing notions

so they may nurture the truth

of God's omnipotence

his unending love

While visiting Thailand I chanced upon the ruins of the Ancient City. It flourished during our Revolutionary War. By Thai standards, Our Old North Church in Boston would be an Ancient temple. "Would you likey buy ancient artifact? We makey only two weeks ago!"
