A Star by Carol S. Wood Sunday, September 21, 2008 Rated "G" by the Author. Share Print Save Become a Fan This poem is dedicated to my dear mother, Edna Stevens who died at age 51 on August 4, 1981.
She bids farewell to the universe, As she soars across the sky In her last instant of glory, I watch her quickly die A shinning silver streak of light, Long last set free Burns a path into the night, Then ceases to be And I gaze in sorrow from afar, Into the darkened space Where once there was a star, Was now an empty place
