OK you all AD boys, brothers, known readers and unknowns that "just for curiosity I read this", here's the CHALLENGE, to write a love poem to Rebecca, and please, don't let me down, ex-Marines aren't known to be all that forgiving and we have the boots to prove it! |

Dedicated to REBECCA S RUSSEL
Take her seriously and don’t go hurting
a lovely woman because you think you can,
remember that one of those long-haul
eighteen-wheelers over you she can drive,
and then looking in the spying rear mirror
she will look trying many different hats,
because you can bend but never break
a woman with a spirit that knows how to laugh.
Listen to her words or please, read them,
she is something special, no ordinary gal,
the one that make you think a dozen roses
of smelling jasmine pillows and goodnight
after passion recedes into burning embers
as she snuggles between your strong arms,
morning will come soon, after all you two
burned both ends of the candle last night.
Remember, the day you two are much older
that under your roof is moving a Navy brat,
a tender gypsy spirit loving you forever
walking with feet on a road of no easy life,
all you can do is be there, the man for her,
a stalwart when her world shiver, the only one
that says with a true whisper “I love you,
and will love you beyond the end of our lives.”

Oh noooooooooo ... not the boots :-)
Okay, you rascally ole love-bird, here's one for Rebecca:
Rebecca
by Ted L Glines
Rebecca come to me on wings of light,
the lock to my heart requires your key,
with you my love is singing loud and free,
my aching arms are craving you tonight,
with you my heart is surely taking flight,
don't make me wait to hold you close to me,
for you are all that's dear and all that's glee,
and you are all that matters in my sight.
What can I say, us Bros stick together!
Ted |

This is like a beam of light falling on a prism of love which throws a bunch of colors on the romantic walls of our hearts. The message goes deep into our minds |

Great challenge, Georg, but I don't know anythin' about romance; never been in love, so there you be. I'll leave that to the experts; besides, I don't do poetry! EXCELLENT poem, as per usual, from you; very well penned!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :D |

Well with this write you definately set the bar pretty high with your own poetic tribute my friend. I am sure you melted her heart and brought a smile to her lips with such beautifully romantic words of love and praise.
