Hang Teardrops From a  Christmas Tree (song)

By Fee

I’ll be watching for you by my window

As the snow powders on the ground

A twinkling kaleidoscope of snowflakes

Whispering bittersweet secrets all around

Chorus:

And Bing sings about White Christmas

As the lights sparkle on the tree

While all our friends go out acaroling

So please tell me why you’re not with me

They say Christmas is for wishes

But the only wish I want come true

Is to see you smiling by the mistletoe

So I won’t feel so Christmas blue

I hear it’s raining down in New York

But nobody really seems to care

The big city lights all glow at night

And I know you wish that I was there

Chorus

Still in my dreams a different scene

Santa leaves a present just for me

And on Christmas morn I’ll be toasty warm

Kissing you beside my Christmas tree

And Elvis sings about Blue Christmas

As I hang my teardrops on my tree

The world I know will keep on turning

But this broken heart won’t set me free

Chorus (twice)

Christmas, that joyful season, can be such a sad time for some. May your Christmas dreams all come true. White Christmas and Blue Christmas were both wonderful songs. Now we have a new one, Hanging Teardrops from a Christmas Tree. Your songwriting moods provide great reading!

Beautiful song that I bet sounds even better with the music, though a tearful piece that expresses how lonely people can be at Christmas....

Be always safe,

Nice aching words, Fee, but have heart, call her on the phone and you can spend hours tellin' each other how much you love and miss them. I love Christmas time, your song makes me want to start playing my favorite Christmas records, now. Thanks.

Poet, lyricist, song writer there is no end to your talent. Gotta chase away those Christmas time blues, for some a very sad time of year if you let the Winter get you down and the dark dreary nights. Cabin fever sets in so put on more CFL lights and enjoy the season.
