The ocean's Roar
Ever charging toward the shore
Relentlessly pulsating it's way toward land
Only to pull back from the sand

Wave after wave crashing with foam
Where sandcrabs and seaweed call home
A pier stretches out into the night
Handling the sea's fury, it's fury, it's might

Can feel the fury right through the ground
As every ripple and wave make a sound
The lights on the pier shine out over the sea
No matter where I go they point out at me

Each wave rises up, reaching unknown heights
The crashing and bashing thus hiding the lights
Are the lights that shine out there for me
Or just man's poor attempt to brighten the sea

I feel drawn to the sound the waves leave in their wake
With the rush and the power my senses awake
The scents on the breeze
Remind me of a time of much more ease

With laughter and splashing
Riding the waves before crashing
I am back as a child awed by the sea's size
Where the joy of cresting a wave was the prize

The crashing is louder
As the waves turn rocks slowly into powder
The waves will subside
At the changing of the tide

As life rolls on, wave after wave
It is the memories I save
Glorious visions of a setting sun
Summer love and raucous fun

And as the glory of God's work is abundantly in sight
I continue to search for that God fearing light
Drawing me in to the sea
Where the wave riding dolphins, will forever play with me
