I have known love
I have laid my eyes before all hearts simple desire.
I have kissed the eternal depths of love; I’ve tasted its fire.
I have been blessed upon blessed well beyond measure.
I have known love in its purest form of spiritual pleasure.
I have looked into eyes that steal the wants of my very soul.
I have but only by tender touch of hand made love through the night.
And I have by soft smells upon supple skin tasted all of loves simple delight.
I have chased shootings stars to capture her “I wish I may, I wish I might”
And I have slept the sleep of angels as she played moonlit sonatas by night.
Oh I have known love and I have known it so very well.
And I shall know it once more when the Lord will tell.
For I know love; I know it well;
I know of its needs and to another someday I will tell.
I know God, and I know that He is good.
I know that he should by another grant me another to love understood.
Will I ever forget Leah; will I ever forget the sweetness of our days?
Nay, oh nay, for when I find another, she too will understand the love that Leah portrayed.
Some may think that I wish and wish only upon that shooting star.
I know not yet where she may be, she could be near, she could be from afar.
But I have known love, and I know how in its true commitment to portray.
And I doubt not, for God is good and He will send me another to love someday.
Would she be like Leah…nay I doubt not, but I would love her unconditionally.
I would teach her the joy of a simple smile that said I missed your very presence today.
I would let her know with my eyes that she is all I would ever want and that I would forever stay.
For God is good, and love truly is a two way street.
Someday…oh someday there will be one… oh someone
who would want this love that I have to give complete.
