I was on a plane coming from Las Vegas and going to Ft. Myers, Florida when I got the urge to write this poem. The whole time I was gone I tried to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas" like we all did years ago. I never expected to get such a wonderful reaction. I was pleasantly surprised as I received BIG SMILES and warm greetings from almost everyone. So this IS truly a special time to say, “MERRY CHRISTMAS” once again. The positive reaction I received by so many people inspired me to write this poem.

A Special Time To Say, “MERRY CHRISTMAS” Once Again

“Merry Christmas” is controversial.

“Merry Christmas” is not in style.

But it is sure nice to hear the words,

“Merry Christmas” once in a while.

Political Correctness has replaced

Good Christmas Cheer!

While gay rights and same sex marriages

are heard loud and clear.

What are we to do?

What are we to say?

Should we listen to man,

or do things God’s Way?

The Bible has stood the test of time,

without any reservations or fears.

The Bible is now a #1 best seller,

that's been around for 2000 years!

So when we think about CHRIST

and what He would want us to say.

Say “Merry Christmas” to all

because HE would want it that way!

In remberance of our Lord and Savior,

what would Jesus really want us to do?

He would want us to say once again...

“MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

“MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

“MERRY CHRISTMAS To You!”

 Amen

Ah for simpler times when saying "Merry Christmas" brought a smile to everyone's face with out the complications of todays complex world where everything has to be analyized and questioned. Some times it'd best to apply the KISS principle and just enjoy the holidays. Tis the season to be jolly but peace on earth and goodwill to all is the ultimate goal of all good people no matter their faith. Good write John and Peace does not mean to be sheltered from struggle , hard work and sickness. peace means to be in the midst of all these things yet still have peace in your heart. Merry Christmas and God Bless . Luke

And a very Merry Christmas to you. Although facts stand clear that there is no American tradition, nor even a biblical documentation to the word "Christmas" itself. However we have to always keep that spirit and treat people as if every day were special.

In fact, every day IS special....Every day is the season of love. And although people may like like this, even from the holiday being "fixed" to convert pagans, God's love overshadows all of our faults even with the invention of the commercializing of a holiday we label with a religious component with a day that cannot be traced thru the bible in a calendar.

But as others say, if we need a reason for the season, let's put that reason into the other 11 months of the year. More love, less tradition.

God bless, your poem is beautiful and shows a lot of deep thought "in flight." (smile).

As I'm sure you know, the literal translation of Christmas is Christ's Mass. Religions other than Christian do not use the term. Instead you'll hear and see Happy Holidays, etc. Although I have a Jewish friend who says Merry Christmas to all he knows aren't of his faith so maybe what is and is not politically correct is changing. As for me I say, MERRY CHRISTMAS loud and clear, and often. Great poem. I can see why it's gotten the following it has.

"The Bible stood the test of time,

It’s been is a #1 best seller,

Unless the author is using symbolism in lines 13 to 16 of "Let’s All Say, “MERRY CHRISTMAS” Once Again", we must get it informed that there was no book before the 16th century.

The opening lining says it clear:
" “Merry Christmas” is controversial" < < < Yes, indeed it is.

Good singing on behalf of a State cultural feast imposed by the Greek-Roman empire (Vatican and Canterbury) and followed by their affiliated centurions; and now celebrated as a spiritual-cultural sacred holiday.

"Let’s All Say, “MERRY CHRISTMAS” Once Again" is an inspiring composition that stimulates fraternity.

In respect,

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU
