How is it no matter how many people
are starving to death… all I think of is
I am hungry and craving more food.
I mean really, what is wrong with me,
that I actually believe this is a problem
worth discussing with myself? Maybe,
next time I should go to the Sudan
and experience the true sensation and
utter desperation from physical hunger.

I know most people are busy this time of year shopping for gifts for their loved ones. If possible, please take 5-10% of what you have spent on others and give to a charity as well.
One of my favorites is Heifer International, an organization that helps disadvantaged people “obtain a sustainable source of food and income” by providing live stock to produce milk, eggs and cheese; or wool for clothing.
Please click on the above or below link to Heifer International for more about this great organization.
Thank you!
P.S. - Someone asked me if Heifer passes on 100% of their donations. No, they do not. They are not the most highly ranked of charities; using 40% of the money collected for administrative personnel and management.
To get a list of the charitable organizations that give the most money to those they collect for, please visit this website: Charity Navigator.

Yes I am always sceptical about sending money to these charitable organizations. I once sponsored a child but I was not allowed to corespond directly with him. Also I was not allowed to send him any personal gifts. His letters were always typewritten(odd). I am certain that boy never heard from me. My advice: Do for the needy in your own community and pray that others will do the same in theirs.(only my opinion.)

This is why giving to the Foyer de Sion Orphanage in Haiti is my passion... I know where the money goes, and the children who benefit from it...every penny...
