You were a source of delight
The flicker of a candlelight
The glow of a dessert moon
The sparkle of jewel eyes
The sound of ocean waves
The soft touch of a breeze
But these days dear honey
And much to my chagrin
I miss your companionship
I feel unshielded from winds

Into the depth of my heart
Your silence is making a sound
Sending out echoes of fears
reverberating in the walls of my soul

Deep in my heart
You were a spot of love
But since you have deserted it
It is now filled by emptiness of mind
In the jaws of pain I am thrown, honey
As loneliness is trying me out
Like a child on a broken bicycle
Taking pleasure of my vulnerability
Like a tongue pushing itself through
a hole vacated by a fallen tooth

" I feel unshielded from winds" -- truly love is a marvelous protective barrier, from the influences which would lead to a broken heart -- there is melancholy and joy in your poem Abdi-Noor my friend -- may the spirit of the new year mend a wounded heart -- JMW

A literary kaleidoscope of a poem, perhaps you where there when Sherezade told stories for a thousand and one night.
