Secrets without Answers
I looked into the mirror and what did I see,
an image reflected unlike than in my mind,
appearing is a old man I can’t believe is me,
bodies age in the hourglass of passing time.
It seems like yesterday that I was so young,
playing with neighbor kids from next door,
the things we do remember when life begun,
thoughts and visions of joy, peace and war.
Shadows dance, thoughts linger in the night,
rainbow of color transcends into our dreams,
stirring our mixed emotions of love and fright,
price of survival in a land of earthly schemes.
Growing so old retaining youthful confusion,
our mind and bodies as one go separate ways,
trapped in tomorrow and yesterday’s illusion,
the essence of pain brings a reality to the days.
In the mirror materializes an elderly reflection,
while our mind tries to hold on to days gone by,
never knowing what is real or aging deception,
secrets without answers not revealed till we die.
