An empty tummy makes us angry...but little Cupid is different. Sometimes its not being hungry at all that makes us mean. Sometimes its just loneliness.

A Hungry Cupid

One day our little Cupid got very hungry and his tummy hurt.

He was such a gentle soul who didn’t push or try to assert.

So he asked a man quite quietly if he could have some food.

The man just stared and said in quite an angry mood.

“No, I’m not giving you one spec of food I own.”

“I don’t have a lot of money and I live here all alone.”

“So take those arrows and shove them where the sun don’t shine.”

“For everything you see that’s here is totally all mine.”

Little Cupid never talked to humans before in his little life.

But it shocked him do the very core when the man yielded a knife.

“Get out of here now before I cut off those stupid wings.”

And little Cupid took flight still hungry for those tasty things.

As the hungry little Cupid stopped to ponder, he saw a lady pass by.

She was very beautiful and would brighten any man’s lonely eye.

So he took out an arrow and shot it right at her heart.

Then he went back to the man who became the other part.

For love needs a couple it will not work with less.

And even though the man was mean & a human mess.

He still found it in his heart to give this man some bliss.

So he shot him in his heart too and got to see their first kiss.

Still hungry the little Cupid slept under the mean man’s deck.

Awoke to the aroma of food just for him, and ate every spec.

And everyday that he stayed there, that same man made him food.

He was no longer angry or mean and peculiarly, was no longer rude.

Keep these cupid capers coming, Bonnie; well done! I still say that cupid looks like my big, strong daddy! (Although I've never seen daddy in a pink wig; I've seen him in a hillbilly wig, and if I remember correctly, it was brown; another time, he was dressed up in a yellow chicken outfit for Halloween, and step mama was an egg; daddy kept "crowing" to other people at the Hallowe'en party they went to, "Look at what I laid"! LOL Silly daddy!! LOL) Enjoyed~

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
