"Hymns of Christian Peace". These beautiful Christian hymns were probably composed by a close follower of John, the Lord's "Beloved Disciple", around the years 100-120. Due to an early copyist's mistake in translating the above title of Peace, they are now incorrectly known as The Odes of Solomon (whose name, of course, means "peaceable"). New translations of 29 of these wonderfully inspiring hymns are included in my book, "More Bible Wisdom for Modern Times: Selections from the Early New Testament".

The Lord encircles my head like a crown of laurel leaves,

so that I shall never lose sight of Him

or be far from His presence.

He has weaved this crown of truth for me

and has caused its shoots to grow within me;

for this crown is neither withered nor inactive.

Yes, you, dear Lord, are alive upon my head.

You have blossomed within me

and caused your fruits of salvation

to ripen in all their fullness and perfection.
