Mom, what I would I do?
Mother what would I do if it were not for you?
You gave me life, through God’s miracle of birth.
You gave me hope when I felt I was not fit for earth.
I recall the past; I was not always a nice lad.
I was a restless rebel and that made you so sad.
But you seen through the trash; you never gave up on me.
I could count on you always; you were reliable as could be.
I did not deserve to be treated so well.
My destiny was with the devil and it was hell.
Then the dust was cleared; I cleaned up my act.
You stood by my side and that is simply a fact.
Now we have both grown older and you need a helping hand.
Mom, I will be here for you always; you made me what I am.
Your loving son,
Johnny
