Get away Jesus,  How can You love me
I'm a sinner,  don't you know

I love you because you are mine
I can wash your sins white as snow

I'm in pain,  my heart bleeds
I don't want you bothering me

I am here to offer healing love
I'll set your demons free

I am not worthy to touch your hem
Or kneel in shame by Your cross

It was my lifes blood that flowed
To save ALL who are lost

I'm a murderer,  and a gambler
Go away,  just let me be

My son,  I offer forgiveness
No sin is too big for me

I've lost my wife,  and my child
There's nothing left to live for

Live for Me, my son
God's love is forevermore

I scream out in anquish
Satan fights to possess

Put your faith in Me, my child
And I will do the rest

How can You love the likes of me
I'm not fit to live

You will be born again, my son
A new life I will give

I cannot take this pain alone
Jesus,  please help me stand

I've been here all along, my child
Just waiting to take your hand....

How patiently He waits for the needy one to surrender, and receive His love. You did a beautiful job with this--a fascinating story well told, showing the unconditional love of Jesus, and all done in skillful rhyming. Connie

Linda your poem touches every realm of our live and places we have yet to go. But the beauty of this excellent piece is that Jesus is the answer to all our woes': And He can do anything but fail. Alleluea! For the Savior and thank God for you! May Justice, Truth, Love, and Peace never cease from this earth!!!

Absolutely gorgeous, this interaction between the Son of Man and man. Even when we're at our lowest, He is there, willing to pick us up and love us, just as we are. Well done, my new favorite of yours.

WOW!! Powerful lines you pen; Jesus does love us that much! Even when we feel we aren't deserving, He picks us up, hugs us, and loves us, no matter WHAT! He's that kind of Man! And I am so glad He is! Very well penned, Linda; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

The last two lines ring true, how he patiently awaits the day that we stop playing Jonah and keep getting swallowed by his whale.

My true story, "A Reason for Living," tells of that exact moment when we finally concur and comply with his offer to love us unconditionally, if only we will stop running away long enough to listen.

Thanks for this powerful poem.
