A New Dream

Handsome Hero. US ARMY.

There's a new dream on the horizon

I saw his face for the first time tonight

Although it was on webcam

He wasn't  far from my sight

He was tired and worn from his long flight

His eyes were beautiful, sad and lost

And when he smiled his face lit up

Handsome and strong

Yet modestly so

No arrogance on show

A soldier, a hero

Someone i would like

to get to know

He asked what i was doing

For the rest of my life

A corny but funny line

Well i am not gonna be your wife!

Not that you meant it that way

But hanging on the end of

a telephone

Never knowing when

a soldier will be home

Especially one over the sea

it's a strange life in the military

And yet i feel myself falling

ever so softly

For this charming man!

Friends i say

But feeling something more

Not sure why

From all the people i meet

But i am sure this soldier boy

can sweep me off my feet!

I am in need of a little love and romance

After all the emotional highs and lows

To feel safe and warm in his strong hands

Just a kiss to make me feel

Like new again

From within

There's a new dream on the horizon

And I think it's him
