Good Friday in Our Town

The visuals of this poem were observed out the window of a shuttle-bus in Seattle Washington.

Good Friday in Our Town

I saw Jesus today,
dark and sweaty,
crown of thorns,
shouldering a large cross,
standing by a street corner.
Traffic zipped by
unheedingly.
There came a voice
from a passing shuttle:
a little girl cried,
"Look, Mom,
I saw the Easter Bunny."
Jesus wiped his brow,
moved on down the street.
Traffic zipped by
unheedingly.

Words that speak volumes of how many see Easter these days. Somehow, it's lost its meaning. Well written piece.

Very insightful. Yet, among the throngs who take no heed, there are believers still, loving and serving Jesus. May we who bear His Name share the good news of His salvation with our world.
Welcome to Authors' Den, Dallas.

Dallas,

This says so much about Easter today. Somehow the Easter Bunny seems to have taken Christ's place. So sad.
