What’s In Your Heavenly Account?

A Savior came, didn't have to, volunteered, because His love was SO great there seemed no choice. My art and poetry from my book "An Artistic Appreciation of Jesus: Volume 2". Please do NOT copy.

I Volunteered

When sinners laughed and saints spew tears--
what choice had I?
Life wasn’t worth living--
without love and thanks giving.
I volunteered
to live ... and then die.
How else could men get by?

It was impossible to die ...
death but a sigh;
for men a second chance.
I’d sacrifice, pay in advance.
I volunteered
to live ... and then die.
What other choice had I?

I walked Earth, flesh. Felt sorrow, pain.
I hold men high.
I bore sins, burdens, all
and sanctified my Word as Law.
I volunteered
to live ... and then die.
My second coming ... nigh.

I knew you’d come Home, flock again.
We share such glee,
love victoriously,
when we look at how life should be.
I volunteered
to live ... and then die--
when humanity cried.

How else could men get by?
What other choice had I ...
my seconding coming nigh.
Humanity will cry
though many will get by.
