Letting Go
By La Belle Rouge

letting go is all that's left
to hold on to
letting the memories slide
into an abyss
we can no longer plumb

forgetting futile fortitude
tears slipping
beyond the fragile cusp
of insignificant dreams

letting go is the only means
of holding on to
fleeting remnants of day
before night closes in

letting go, releasing
all the bewilderment at life
and cruel disappointment
of what has been

and in the final darkness
a caterpillar crawls
toward flamboyant wings
of what is yet to be

Oh, this is beautiful, La Belle, love that picture and these poignant lines show incredible strength! A decision not to be made lightly, but sometimes, in order to save ourselves, it's the only way. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Letting go...sometimes are harder than hold what are hurting us, because life has converted our feelings towards a kind of self punishing.
When love isn't there anymore the only consolation maybe sadness.
