He tells me his innermost thoughts,

Woof, woof, grrrrr, me he taught to growl,

I may be just a human, but I belong to him,

Whine, squeal, & further I learned to howl…

Sign language he does well know,

When out he wants his eyes do glow,

Bark, bark, ruff, ruff, with my dad I did grow…

He wants long fur like me,

But doesn’t like it does my mommy,

She’s attractive to both of us, we’ve found,

Gurgle, gurgle, whine, around her I make no sound…

So glad you finally taught him sign language, Rufuz! Now work on his gurgling and whining when your Mommy is around!

Lil'brother, you have a talking dog and a pair of legs to show on Atlantic city beach! PeeWee will be plenty jealous.(but way you ain't in drags, like our brother told Ma?)

Any dog-owner (ok, dog or cat) shares a special language with his 4-footed friend. I can understand, though, why you are silent when Mommy is there, (especially as you get older and people begin to watch for signs of dementia.) Sugarplum has such an extensive language, it's hard to learn it all. Bill does best with the rurr, rurr, rurrs. Sugar can bark with a toy or a frisbee in her mouth. She is the most talkative dog I've ever met.
This is a great poem (before this old one forgets to mention that)

Ed and Rufuz,

I'm always been so impressed by the special relationship you too have. It's better than a lot of marriages! I see where you and Dr. Bonnie got together on a book. That should be good.

Pets and there owners do seem to develop their own language and it is one that often defies science but love is a strong conductor and that is a fact.
