A puzzle by Diane C. Hundertmark copyright 2002
Version 1 A desert owl soars in flight A shadow crossed moon doth show Lonely deaths at namless hands Bodies blown to dust so dry
Shadows cast by the light Water is there to feed the soul A solitary tree deep in sands Neath the stars in a southern sky
Shows the way in the night Gives the life truth be told Cradles treasures in magic bands Sweet Elven scion there doth hide
Version 2
A desert owl soars in flight Shadows cast by the light Shows the way in the night
A shadow crossed moon doth show Water is there to feed the soul Gives the life truth be told
Lonely deaths at nameless hands A solitary tree deep in sands Cradles treasures in magic bands
Bodies blown to dust so dry Neath the stars in a southern sky Sweet Elven scion there doth hide

This was written as a puzzle for a role playing game. It was orginally planned to be lines written on scraps of parchment that were to be found and pieced together to give clues for a quest. Here are two ways these 12 lines could fit together.

Difficult to comment out of context, but rouses interest even alone. |
