A Gigolo’s Memories
Wednesday night was Ladies’ Night at the club -
The cheers and the noise of tipsy women
Were limited only by the size
Of their pocketbook
The white of the tuxedo, shirt, bowtie and shoes
Made Mr. Continental look sleek and sharp.
As the beat of music got louder and louder
They refreshed the drinks,
And the face with powder.
As the jacket and the shirt came off
Singles, tens and twenties
In the bikini went in.
Were they cheering at the flashy clothes?
Were they seduced
By his pure and sensitive heart?
Were the sleek dance steps the answer?
Whatever it was, they were drooling
Over the hot blooded dancer!
It was the follies of youth
And the age of fig leaves bliss.
It was a time
Spent on the pursuit of happiness,
Looking for paradise
In all wrong places.
