Vermont Is On My Mind

My high school is celebrating our 50th class reunion this week in St Johnsbury, Vermont. I can't go , but am there in thought and spirit!

Vermont is on my mind,
no matter where I go
I see the valleys of green,
the mountains draped with snow

I can picture the country roads,
winding along the way,
past many farms with,
fields of new mowed hay

I see the tiny villages,
buildings old and new, and
the country churches with
tall steeples and wooden pews

I can feel the changing seasons,
even tho I'm not there
I still treasure the memories of
loved ones, times we used to share

Yes, Vermont is on my mind.
It will always be,
A special part of my life,
and very dear to me

What a wonderful write this is!! Some memories of places and people would never leave us, and I'm so happy that you are still communicating with your high school friends. They are so precious. I wish I could locate my friends too.

MaryGrace, this is a wonderful tribute to the place of your birth and youth -- we never forget those places where our heart and soul resides, regardless of where we physically relocate to in later life -- the picture you paint is one of pastoral beauty -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael
