Far Away
By La Belle Rouge

you are far from me now
afraid to allow your feelings

afraid of facing your truth
fearful of an open heart
you keep it shut, bolted,
believing it won't get broken

what path are you walking?
why must you walk it alone?

I dwell in a prison not chosen
you live in one you won't leave
the very thought of freedom
makes you tremble with fear

and so you stay far away
and you wonder where I am

when nights are cold you wish
you could feel the warmth
of my hand held in yours
hear a whisper of love poetry

but I stay far away, trying
not to infringe on your dreams

Sometimes it just isn't meant to be. As much as we try to make it "real" it just wasn't meant to be in this lifetime. Perhaps another time and place it will be fantastic, great message and very well written. You are always so good, Belle...

Soul loneliness that comes only as a result of missing its significant match. Sometimes two twain want only the best for each other, yet sacrifice themselves in the doing leaving no-one better off. When dreams aren't able to be shared they become forcefields of division that neither desires to infringe. I can feel this like two same-type magnets fielding each other apart. Truly elegant sorrow, Belle. xx

Reminds me of the Aretha Franklin tune, 'You Won't Share Your Love With Me'. Sad when one won't embrace a love freely given and sadder still is having to accept the inevitable. Very fine penning, La Belle...

LaBelle,
Sad and tender poem, the pain of separation and of unresolved differences; it speaks quietly but with real force.

this speaks of so many silent relationships...some are by choice some by circumstance...either way it is a sad lonely way to live.

Belle~
Your words so aptly portray how one keeps distant in respect for the Other's path, how one can not or will not step out from fear into the unknown no matter how much they want what lie beyond the walls they themselves construct and maintain and how what a hard and lonely the waiting place is.

Perhaps, the only fear there is, when in the dark, one hear the silence...screaming.
A poem wrote with a sad quill.
