Cereus (Queen of the Night)

    old ugly cactus bush
desert nightmares
    scorch her dreams
warp her existence

     at night
in the moonlight
    she blooms
only once
    one midsummers night
when evil can't touch her

     she blooms
despite this stained view
     of heat and mirages
beauty and purity come out

     on this moony night
when evil can't touch her
     or her dreams
of coming out as the queen
     closing forever
in the morning rays of the sun

Oh love this--the desert flower is like the lotus that blooms from the mud. Nature teaches, we just need to really see and listen to her lessons. This one is to never let the dark side of life destroy your spirit nor your dreams and that there is always hope! Beauty, Dale...

Dale,

This is absolutely beautiful. I see cacti everyday, they're pretty ugly but nothing is so beautiful as a cactus flower.
