Imagine our stars and stripes
Being replaced by China's flag
It is causing many leaders strife
What we owe China, makes them gag

We borrow more than we can pay
Now the figure is astronomical
This independence day holiday
Could be one of our final

Makes me wonder about our future
Just what is our government thinking
Each year it grows more unsure
No longer making progress,but sinking

Are there any politician's we can trust
To keep proudly, our red white and blue
Choosing with care, before  we vote
We should find leaders who can be true

Happy Fourth of July (I hope)

etw-2009

note: this is not only about our present administration ,but since Reagan there
has been a steady decline!

Whatever happened with the BNP SURPLUS that little Georgie inherited where a lot of people OWE US a lot of money?
Maybe we should recover some of our money hiding under Dick Cheney's and Halliburn mattresses!

Can we still redeem our birthright? Just what does it mean? What is America? What ideals was she founded on? What is our destiny? Things to ponder over the 4th. A little less celebration and a little more contemplation is in order, I think. Thank you, Eileen...

I agree with Lori's comment. Leaders? HA That's a joke. It is SOOOOOOOOOO very simple to fix the problems in our country. But that's not what our wealthy, power hungry leaders want. They want a socialistic or even a dictatorial government. I'm about ready to go back to where my Grandparents came from. Anyway, great write Eileen and God bless.

WHAT A TOTAL 'M E S S' THIS PRESENT ADMINISTRATION WALKED INTO...I WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN THE JOB IF SOMEONE HAD HANDED IT TO ME ON A SILVER PLATTER WITH CHOCOLATE ON TOP (..AND I 'LOVE' CHOCOLATE). BUT A YOUNG MAN TOOK THE JOB AND IS DOING HIS BEST TO TURN OUR SITUATION AROUND....HE NEEDS SUPPORT NOT COMPLAINTS. COME ON, LET'S STAND BEHIND OUR LEADER AND PRAY FOR HIM, IN THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES. AND JUST IN CASE YOU'RE HESITATING... GUESS WHAT? WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT...IT WILL NOT BE EASY WHAT WITH THE WAY THE LAST ADMINISTRATION LEFT THINGS...BUT WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH THESE VERY HARD TIMES AND, MY FELLOW AMERICAN, WE WILL NOT CHANGE FLAGS, WE WILL STILL BE THE SAME DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT THAT OUR FOREFATHERS BLED AND DIED FOR. DO YOU KNOW WHY?....BECAUSE....'YES WE CAN'!!!! I ENJOYED YOUR 'RESPONSE' PROVOKING WORK (SMILE) GOD BLESS AND THANKS FOR SHARING. JOYCE

Those that can't see the direction we are going and being led have only their own self interests at heart. It's a sorry 4 th and those that celebrate it may find it their last under a Republic .

I'm glad you mentioned this is not only about our present administration - the selling off, and selling out, of America by our so called 'leaders' has been going on for a very long time now.

And not only do we take their money - we now import most of our goods from them - from children's toys, to building materials, to automobile parts, to pet food, and even a lot of the food in our grocery stores - now comes from China.

And as we now know, a lot of these imports aren't even inspected - lead in children's toys; poison pet food, and God only knows what's in the food we are all now ingesting.

PS: Most of the fireworks you'll hear on the 4th were made in China, too.

Happy Independence Day!

Won't happen if we have more faith in our country, Eileen...The flags of France, Germany, Japan, etc. have never flown over our Continental Country, and we've "borrowed" relevantly "deep" from each of them in our past history, beginning with the Revolutionary War. All these countries have, from to time, invested deeply in our land and real estate, but no foreign flags do I see except at Embassies. I look at it that we're the strongest country other monied-nations WANT to invest in.
Let's ALL fly our Stars and Stripes proudly this July 4th, and every day.
Blessings and Love - Micke
