...having prayed for a grave situation for so long...one sees a faint 'light' of an answer

She had been walking

on the same midnight road

for so long...

its ebone' atmosphere

enveloping her sight

snickering...at her pleas and song

She followed a destined path

making its now and again turns...

her dilated pupils robotically ahead stared...

peering far into the cold distance

seeking a sliver of gold...oh! just a spark!

The very fibers of her being persistently...glared!

There were times of secret wails

when even she did not understand...yet

she pressed on...unseen protective arms bore

'Til...the appointed time came...

the hour of 'all' her pining arrived!

First stunned...then realization flooded...her core

   For...there...it...was!

A minute essence

of darkness' vanquish appeared

...a Light!

 So small...perhaps...

not...at all???

She squinted...

yes!...it was there!

A glimmer...snailing and obtuse but...

a Light!

She flung away the 'mounds' of

accumulated despondency!

Silenced!...the reverberating...'what's the use??!!'

Still so far away...albeit...

a Light!

At last! A beckoning...

O Lord...a hope!

Yes...yes...! She knows...

she knows!!!

There's a long, long ways to go...but

a Light!

It matters 'not' the size of it

for to her

it's a 'splash' of opulence bright

tearing through the facade

of her eternal night!

A Light...! A Light...!

O! Praise God!

...A Light!

...the essence is more than an affirmation that size matters not... much more than a study in contrasts... the essence is in transcendence, in rising above and beyond constraint, beyond forces of oppression symbolized by darkness, beyond illumination symbolized by light... it is only from experience of great depth that we may ascend to the heights of rare visions such as the one you have shared with us here, dear Joyce...

Blessings of peace be yours now and forever,
Roger

It is very symbolic how you have chosen your words to express your ideas. I love how you repeated the word light to reinforce your passion for healing of whatever this transgression is. I could feel hope by the end of your poem. Lovely work Joyce, thank you for sharing.

Dear Joyce, how true what you are saying here. Light will not come when you are looking for it. It is only accessible when someone naturally squints. There is a chance that the light appears. Well done my friend, God bless you, Love Emile

Hi Joyce,
I've just read your bio and this poem reflects what you said about your life. You searched and you found--even though the path continues. Having and keeping God in your life is an on-going journey and you've captured that thought very well.

Amen!
Your work clearly reflects your faith.
And that light can come in many varied and different forms too, depending on the situation. But for me, dear Joyce, the most important light in my life is the Christ that created me and sustains me and gives me a future in Him. Well done!
