Waves against the hull,

Do of me to sleep lull,

No other sound till morn,

Then of the scavenging gull,

Such a better place exists not,

To over life’s stresses mull…

A patting on the cabin roof,

Over night a wayward shower,

Nothing though to away from cower,

Just another of Natures nuances,

To find enjoyment, never do they of me sour…

Awake with the dawn,

With one final stretch & yawn,

All manner of nightmarish dreams gone,

On the shore within sight, a mother & her fawn,

Just off the stern during breakfast, two curious swan…

Have to love the sound of water lapping against the hull of a ship, whether it is a small overnight cruiser or an ocean going vessel to fall asleep to a gentle roll and ths sound of the sea's own music cannot be found any better.
