       Gently unfolding.....

Late, late at night when all is quiet,
chores and children, day is ended.
Within the vast darkness, shines a light,
gently unfolding, gracefully tended.

A time for body and mind to renew,
making ready for the next day ahead.
Yet we hesitate at this inner blossoming,
laying back down, resting our head.

Stillness abounds, a peacefulness,
breathing slowly as if a reflection.
Wondering if we are on the right path,
while time passes without detection.

Standing again in darkness and silence,
absorbing this warmth, a spiritual gift.
Filling body and mind with rejuvination,
deeper, much deeper, to our soul a lift.

A bright beam of illumination,
alone now as always before.
Instilling a comfort, subtle peace and joy,
mesmerized, looking out across the shore.

Oh how the ocean glistens and shines,
as each newly born ripple heads towards land.
As if a message being sent from beyond,
leading the way, reaching for our hand.

Stretching out our arms as if to touch,
this miraculous light warms our soul.
A soothing tranquility completely encompasses,
regardless of what in life may toll.

Hoping, wondering, great consternation,
yet God is always right there at our side.
It is mankind who sometimes turns away,
it is also our way to eventually learn to abide.

Unsure of the road we now travel,
and all the strife and struggle ahead.
Praying for salvation, everlasting peace,
now is the time to bow our head.

PHRASES AND IMAGERY OF OUR REDEEMER'S LOVE, CARE AND RESTORATION...EVEN BEFORE WE APPROACH HIM, HE KNOWS JUST WHAT WE STAND IN NEED OF AND HE LIBERALLY GIVES IT TO US. PHRASES, IMAGERY AND RHYME ALL BLEND TOGETHER SMOOTHLY IN THIS FINE WORK. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I've often burned the midnight oil writing verse into the wee hours of the night myself, so I can relate. Even tho you're on the path less chosen I venture that you're on the "write" path. Be well.

A friend of mine earlier blogged with this quote -
“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.”
~ Jeremiah 6:16
I sense you caught the essence of that this poem reflecting before you went off to sleep.

I've been in some of those late night moments where creation folds around you and holds you in the palm of a peacful, tranquil hand. the silence of nature, God's creation - trees - a breeze - the sound of water - a meadow - in the mountains - by the ocean -

Sometimes, we forget that we are only one element of that creation.
