A seria photograph and a peculiar image.

It was just a photograph

sepia in tone

perhaps from a time

beyond where I know.

Yet there in a corner

a boy stood like me

the more I looked

the more I could see.

It was then I longer gazed

did I see him wave?

This image

in a photograph

that looked like me,

disturbed and un-nerved

I threw the photograph down

but dared to return

as I picked it off of the ground.

There he was this boy just like me

now shrugging his shoulders

as he appeared to be,

well in some strange way

grinning you see,

was this boy really me?

I returned the photograph

into the album

and have never returned

to look again.

You see I found out

that My father was there

as a child among those people

that stood and stared

looking at a camera.

So could it be

that there was this person

that was really waving at me?

that he  was my father

a part of what became me.

Well maybe.
