A Lover's Dream

You stormed in
a few years past
on a warm
westerly wind,
In a sullen trace
of unforgiven grace,
you came
to capture me.
In my eyes
lived foolish pride
that welled with anger
of a broken heart.
When I closed my eyes,
Colors would fly.
Yellow and red,
flashing off and on,
Like a neon sign
in the night.
Anger, locked deep within,
brought false relief
to a broken heart,
then the night turned to day.
So here we are,
half a year later.
I reach for you,
in the stillness,
of the morning
and every day.
Deep within promises
I intend to keep,
we drift away,
in a lovers dream.
