I AM A POEM

I am a poem,

becoming.

My words rise

on the surf of nature’s tides.

The poem grows:

a bell flower, a tambourine, a drum,

a flute, a zither, a balaphone.

Rhythms propel to soar.

I transform

like a phoenix

into sunrays and moonbeams

dropped from life’s flames,

poetic words radiate like new leaves

in a forest of clouds.
