Jade Eyes
By La Belle Rouge

I looked at an old picture today
seeing you again back when
I wanted so desperately
to have your love

I realized it was your eyes, always
those melting eyes that drew me
pale jade, things of beauty
jewels.... those eyes

I thought all the tears were cried
but looking into those eyes
before they turned dark
I felt the same ache

only now all the other aches joined
memories of wanting your love
the long years crawling by
hot anger, cold pain

unforgettable beauty of such eyes
renewed need to fight back tears
I miss the light in jade eyes
before the curtains fell

but you've been gone so long now
that my eyes just turned away
to remember soft jade eyes
warming a summer day

Such beauty and style written in this well-crafted poem Belle!
I see the soft warmth of those green jade eyes, that you speak/write of!
A yearning poem felt in the pit of the heart!

A bittersweet and poignant write, La Belle. One can feel the longing with a tinge of regret, and the resignation. Well done.

I am really touched… combination of sad music and words spoken from the heart is genuine. I guess we all relate to the feeling … one time or another. Beautiful poem!!

the emotion and passion of lost jade eyes is deep and unsettling yet you write it exquisitely ...

Sad, yes, but the beauties of your thought and expression cheer me and make this poem a true one. Yes!

It is often when long time has passed that we forget the sadness, the anger, the urge for revenge and even the hatred, instead we recall some of the good things we shared or enjoyed...even if it is just a memory of someones eyes.

love the words and picture-I guess for me I am not a big fan of music
with poems but you who know me very well already knew that

... the eyes hold all the power, all the memory, all the future somehow: everything connects, comes together or dies away in the eyes, not in just their depth and colour but their brilliance or dullness. I can relate so very heartily to this one, Darlin. Give me everything but weariness in the way your other looks at you... All eyes can be rainbow if they are alive and functioning through all mood spectrums in a healthy way... So much food for thought in this one, Belle. xx

To find love within jade eyes and to see those same eyes turn into a raging thunderstorm which cannot be harnessed will confound and hurt for a long time, maybe forever. The saying, "There's a thin line between love and hate," has never been expressed so eloquently as is done here. Maybe hate is too strong a word, but at lead deep, deep resentment.
