"He gave us the five senses for something greater than what we were taught in school. We are here to feel, taste, smell, touch and see God's love."--Bernice Angoh

I am the peaceful wind inside you
the magical sound of raindrops on your roof top--can you hear me call?
I am the child you once were
the laughter that brings tears to your eyes--can you feel my love?
I am the prisoner that wants to be set free
the loner who longs for a hug--can you see me reaching out?
I am the sigh that brings you joy
water running between your toes--can you taste my friendship?
I am everything that's pure
like the Rose of Sharon, of me, you can be sure--can you smell my blessings in the morning dew?

I loved the way you ended this poem. Your poetry/poem brings Him into personal reach, but the ending of the poem was incredibly strong. They say that some of our strongest memories are influenced and induced by smells. As I read your last line memories of serenity and peaceful dew filled mornings filled my mind... times when I have wandered through the dew laden fields and meadows to find my soul... and I remembered those tender feelings of love I felt at that time--both Him for me, and me for Him.
Your poetry is powerful stuff!

I was just talking to a friend about this kind of poetry--poetry you know is personal, because you can feel the sincerity within it. You remind me again of how humanity is beyond merely being human. It reaches outside of one's self. And when you do that, with every sense, and in every sense, something within you recognizes His touch and pre"sense". Beautiful. --Charlie

Bernice,
Such a splendid inspiring poem you have penned. It is filled with a light that only can come from one source. Your love from within your heart. You are an amazing writer, never stop!

I love it!

The more we open ourselves to God, the more we understand His presence in our lives.

Thanks for sharing this new insight.
