i wrote this for a friend that was moving

Farewell To A Friend

my dear friend, it is time for you to return home
now its time for you to rest
return to your mountains, snow fall and fireplaces
return to where your Christmases are snowy white
where your summers are cool
return to autumn nights,
full of brisk winds and falling leaves
back where cars and highways are not
the only music you hear
you will also hear mother nature's
music of the night
the music of little creatures scurrying about
and owls hooting and taking flight
the music of soft wind through the trees
and the song of gentle summers breezes, softly
rapping rain on your window pane
you will think to your self, it is good to be home,
with no urge to wander or roam
a farewell to a friend
