Dear Tick

It would be a thrill, if we could get time to come to a stand still. But there's no use making an appeal

Dear tick
you're nothing without your tock
Makes me no difference because
my time is running out on the clock
Of course I handle my fears
I'll be lucky if I have ten more good years
I wipe my weeping eye
I know sooner or later we all have to die

Time keeps on moving into the future
slow down so I can better nurture
As far as I'm concerned you can
come to a stand still
give me more time to heal
So less make a deal

You quit tick tocking
and I'll quit face blocking
I'll turn you to face the rising sun
make sure your power is never gone
and I won't let you sit alone
I'll add decor to your wall throne
But even if I pull you out of the socket
other clocks will keep me on their dockett

What if our hearts stopped tickin' with the clocks?? There is always a future, Grady, whether we are a part of it or not...so lets keep tickin' on...and...Measure not the ticks in our life, but the life in our ticks (to paraphrase)
