Last Night I Dreamt of You

Last night I dreamt of you

and it was a very vivid dream indeed

You were as beautiful and sweet as you once were

with lovelight flashing in your caring eyes

my heart skipped at seeing you once again

for I was detemined that you would not slip away again

remembering all the deep feelings and memories we once shared

even though it seems like an eternity away now

and the passage of time has almost eroded everything in sight

I said to you that I still love you as intensely as ever

and you said yes I know that so very well

so I asked you to give me your contact details

and then all of a sudden I woke at six in the morning

still dark outside with a  full moon and stars above

to find my love for you greater than ever before

with the tinge of sadness and heartbreak fresh once again

while meantime I must find a way to get back to you

the rapt intensity of this reads as though you have indeed just awoken from that vivid dream and have excitedly reached for your journal to annotate every detail before its precious elements evaporate with the wakefulness of being. Fabulous resolve at the end! Our dreams can make us very determined and resolute in our desire to overcome. Write on, Jerry! :)) xx
