Art "Winter Farewell"
By Gary Knapp

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Winter's Eve
By La Belle Rouge
you have touched me gently
not on flesh nor lips
not in usual ways
man embraces woman
you have caressed my heart
with spirit fingers
and caused me to feel
the security of your love
let there be no tears ever
nor feelings of being
helpless or inadequate
you have been a sure shelter
a voice of tender passion
to warm my winter’s eve
familiar arms that welcome
the jaded traveler home again
where roots of oaks and willows
grow deep into fertile soil
and secretly entwine
beside ancient rivers of peace
I keep saying people underestimate the power of a spiritual love and incorporeal connection. Flesh need not always touch to feel another person. :-) As always, I've enjoyed your work.
La Belle,
This is beautifully imaged and penned; the heartbeat of love will get you and your brave through the long dark season. Well done.
THIS IS A WORK THAT TRANSPORTS THE READER INTO A WONDEROUS SPIRITUAL REALM...I THINK OF...THAT TIME WHEN I AM BID TO SAY ADIEU TO THE BITTERS OF THIS WORLD...ENTERING THE PEACE OF MY PROMISED ETERNAL HOME...AT LAST...IN THE PRESENCE OF MY BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR...FOREVER. AN OUTSTANDING POETICAL ACHIEVEMENT...REMARKABLE BUT NOT UNEXPECTED FROM ONE THAT HAS SO MANY TIMES REVEALED THE FRUITS OF THE GIFT WITHIN YOU...SO BEAUTIFULLY. THANK YOU LABELLE FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
I love your work, but I still feel a sense of unsettled longing.
Hope you are well, shadow woman. Of course I have been wrong before.
the emotional beauty of imagery stirs the passionate essence of hearts entwined in a supernal, platonic relationship growing in the soil of spiritual endurance...
Your words gather meaning and time immortal, Belle. To herald in the coming winter with such tenderness is a feast for the eyes and a balm for the heart . . .
How many people ever know the wonder of this?
Yet it should be a birthright, the perfect soil in which to grow all of us.
Reading this may be as close as I ever come to knowing this.
Beautiful touching write as always.
