...I think it fitting that in my sixty fifth year of life...that I share with AD a small piece of my beginnings...and I'm proud to say...the babe in the poem is me

O child of mine...O child of mine

let me kiss your brow

Defenseless own flesh

I cannot keep you...How?

O child of mine...O child of mine

I must give you away

I pray to God to keep you safe

we'll meet again...perhaps...Someday

I'll recall your playful antidotes

your smile...I'll never erase

Your very smell...will ever haunt me

may Jesus lead you by His Grace

O child of mine!...O child of mine!

I shall always love you

But mama's pleas & my father's demands

I must leave you now...

don't cry...please...!

A tender, well espressed poem that has touches the essence of many mother's hearts who separate from their children out of love...I am ,too, one of these children, Joyce. Yet, we survive, we live, we love. Bless these mothers and their children.
