And so
another year,
what did we
learn my dear?
What did we
try to do?
And we
We are older too.

Our hopes our lives
our days
pass by us
in a haze.
Our plans our loves
our dreams
are never
what they seem.

How did the
winter end?
What happened
to our friends?
The world
is acting strange
or is it we
have changed?

The things I know
are far and few
but I know what’s inside of me inside of you

my little one,
do not
forget the sun.
You’re frightened
of the night
but you can
trust the light.

All kinds of things
will come to bear
but who knows who
and who knows

And so another year,
what did we learn my dear?

This reminds me of John Lennon's "And So This Is Christmas."

Goodbye my little one,
do not forget the sun.

This reminds me of Terry Jack's (from around these parts by the way) "Seasons in the Sun."

Your poem captivated me and really made me think. Well done, Joel. Thank you. Love and peace,
