Remembering a Gorgeous Lady of my Past

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The December winds crashed against my bedroom window

It rarely gets below freezing but tonight was an exception

I tried to fall asleep but I could not

My frigid body was so cold my teeth were chattering

What I needed was some scotch neat to warm my body

When I drink I think of the past so out came the photo albums

My favorite look back was of my youthful playboy days

The album contained many pictures of friends who are mostly gone

There is one picture that stood out above all others

It was with me and the dazzling red haired Katherine

Her beautiful emerald eyes glowed like forces of love

And they were love for me as I still felt them pierce my soul

She was so eloquent and regal

As I looked at her with me in the photo I grew hot to a frenzy

I felt as if I were in a volcano being scorched by lava

It was Katherine and her volcanic lava eruption

The scotch was finished and I still had Katherine

She was there only in memory of course

But she was inside of me never the less

I floated on air it seemed back to my bed

Where I fell asleep clutching for KATHERINE

Sometimes getting lost in the memories renew ones inner warmth, at least for awhile, letting our thoughts be young again and in a good place...well written Tony, I often visit there too.
