Sometimes we all need assurance of ourselves and to be of good courage. So here is my poem to you.

“Fearless of the Unknown”

Hey! What the...! Someone just turned off the light
at the end of the tunnel. I can still hear the darkness,
smell the fear dripping down my back.
I can’t even see cause it’s pitch black in here or out there,
depending on your perspective.
The more I stare into the unknown,
the more I become familiar with it.
The more familiar I become with it,
the less I am afraid of it.
I walk this gauntlet like warriors from long ago.
Each step I take becomes less and less
of a fearful staggering or hesitation.
I stumbled a little bit,
not because I couldn’t see,
but because of apprehension.
Time passes by.
I began to straighten up.
My steps become stronger,
confident, bold and wiser!
That feeling of butterflies
and the knots unravel from my now poised stomach.
Perfect Love surrounded me and filled me up.
I smiled and then laughed at death.
Everything backed off and began to reckon with me,
to size up my little solid frame.
Wondering why I am strolling lightly
through this passage as if I were with an army.
Until at the end of tunnel, I arrive.
I am the light. I am that in which others seek to reach.
I have no fear. I am the light at the end of the tunnel.
I have mastered my dreams.
