An Act of Love

In their early fifties the couple was
successful in careers of rewarding work
and only a few years before had moved
into a new beautiful house which gave
a reason to build a comfortable home

When they learned that his mother was
ill with a terminal disease an act of love
took lace as their decision was made to
sell the land and house and move to be
with Mom and Dad to care for them

In October 2002 the couple chose to
move into a smaller house a few yards
away offering only a large combined
room for bed kitchen dining and sitting
areas plus one closet and a front porch

She is an experienced nurse and he is
a corporate attorney working in Atlanta
and the two lived in a combined room
for several years as Mom slowly gave
in to inevitable death in August 2005

Continuing to ignore pleas from Dad
to swap house the younger couple did
agree and moved into the bigger house
in July 2007 which by then was owned
by Son Bob and his loving wife Mary

They and Dad have enjoyed living
in the two houses as they now care
for Dad Bill who is in fair health as
he nears his 90th year of a great life
knowing how fortunate he is in all of it

God bless you, Bill- you've showed here what life and love and family are all about. Thank you for that, as it inspires the rest of us.

Bless you, Bill. When the generations are so mutually loving and supportive, it makes being together as family pure joy. The practical and material details fall second to the bonds of love daily enjoyed together. You are a model of what "family" is all about and it is a privilege to share with you. Keep living, loving and laughing! Gratitude and appreciation are powerful medicines which go a long way to ensuring a century-not-out! Have a healthy 2010! xx

I hope this is a true story & not a work of Fiction, as very few care for the plight of old parents, anymore.
Very good!
Keep it up!
