As You Stand

This poem is dedicated to my husband who, unlike myself, seems so much more grounded than I.

From all sides I have been challenged. My mind cries heavily in the night.By the light of day my soul is yearningPeace seems so completely out of sight.Yet, to look at you has amazed me,For you stand so utterly at ease.Do you not wince at the storms brewing?Fatality results from these. You said a man once stood in your shoesAnd his faith sat on God’s right hand.As the winds blew and the storms raged,He stood, unwavering, as you stand.
