This is a true recounting of a recent event.

It seems we've been friends forever
An ocean apart yet side by side,
You feel my thoughts and anguish
Beyond the distant tide.

On a higher plane you think
Much deeper your feelings ride,
You sense my need, I'm at the brink
As you return to my heartbroken side.

Years have passed, our lives have parted
And yet the feelings strong,
Your powers see my distraught mind
And you appear suddenly, once again, after so, so long.

A vision you did see of me
In deep distress, unsure of how I was,
You come back to me as you always have
To instill in me just cause.

For you see I've awakened you
With my subconscious worries surrounding,
I will never understand how you see
All the things that are bothering me.

I have a friend who's close to me
Even though he's far away,
All I need to do you see
Is think and 'wake the witch'…

Wake the witch so she can dust off old painful memories with her broom!

Oh my gosh. What an ending.
Thanks for the eye test with this tiny writing. :)
Much said, but part of me was thinking if this is the bloke who ditched the poet, then he should be told to naff off.
But the other part said, if this is a pal who is a soul mate, then jolly good show.
The sublime art of poetry is to make the reader want to think. Not read and go away!
Thanks for the brain drain, Mrs Steen.
