Hello Belle, i can relate to your poem very deeply because i too, lost my beloved rabbit some years back. Please take time to read my short story BUGSY. Sometimes, losing someone we care about gives us the opportunity to show our love more by setting them completely free, maybe feel sad but draw comfort from the knowledge that they have returned to the Great Creator. Beautiful remembrance for your loving friend.
Blessings,
Sheri |

oh, my dear Belle...I wish I had words to comfort you...it is wonderful that you shared 16 years of love and life with your cat. That, however, is small consolation at the moment. We owe so much to our pets. I don't have all the answers, but I do know there is a spiritual connection between us and the loved ones who left us in body.
Perhaps there is something you can do in honor of your companion? In addition to writing...

sixteen years warming my lap
and sharing my down comforter
those years of tears and smiles
we shared with mutual respect
for each other’s personal space
and uniqueness of individuality
a glorious capture that says it all, Belle. Come rain or shine, hell and high-water, nothing diverts the time, attention and relationship we have with our beloved pets. My heart is full for you and is hoping you find ways to re-occupy that uncanny silence, those peculiar empty spaces that used to be filled with that warm feline presence that is and will remain always dear to you. Yes, undoubtedly she is in a forever warm and sunlit place, stretched out and purring and feeling still your knowing strokes upon her silky fur. Love and hugs, Darlin xx |

Lightening struck that I happened to read you today! We're soul brother/sister on this subject. I lost mine of 17 in 2008, so I can sing your tune too BUT you wrote a darn better poem about it. That last stanza is a classic ALL who've lost their companion animals can relate to... This should be framed and hung by cat lovers like me.
I AM SO SORRY and glad you're crying though; my own went on and off for months after my girl cat died...
And I really wonder about that last question. Take care,
love, Michael |

I'm reading about a special cat- just like you, who has gone ahead to wait for it's care taker.
Beautiful tribute to the most deserving.

"have you climbed up silver stairs, crossed over a rainbow bridge?
stretched out on a celestial ledge, purring in light of an eternal sun, do you watch me still, as I write, waiting for my hand to caress you?" I believe she does, my friend; and I believe in Rainbow Bridge. Sad write Belle but take heart. We and our loving pets will one day be reunited. So sorry for your loss. May God comfort and bless you.
