A MAN WITHOUT A FACE
As I drift upon this earth,
not knowing who or where I am,
a single piece of identity has been lost
to a world of image and expectation.
The man in the mirror:
Who do I see or want to see?
Is it me or my imagination?
When I walk, how am I perceived?
Am I less of a man than my neighbour? No.
What do I fear?
as I drift upon the path,
ashamed of my identity,
wondering:
Is image greater than love and friendship? No.
Why do I fear?
Walking through life over time,
I lost that identity,
I am a man without a face,
anxiety has taken control,
look deep into my soul,
a fragment broken and lost,
where, I don’t know.
One day my problem will be solved.
Until that day,
I must pray and improve my faith.
As Jesus said,
"Man cannot live on bread and water alone,
but with every word of God."
As spoken, God’s word?
is food for the soul.
