This came to me very late at night...

A Visit from a Visage of Valentine’s Day Fairy

Under layers of blankets
Snuggled up with my three dogs
Snoring away, I slept like a log
Suddenly awakened, yelled “Darn it.”

With my three dogs howling
Chaos ensued
When a visage appeared through my eye goo
“What the hell,” I was wondering

The visage spoke
While still hovering over my bed
“Wake up, and clear your silly head”
To the fairy, I wanted to give a poke.

“You’ve been unlucky in love
And that’s a fact
Moping and hoping is no way to act
I’m here to give your love a shove.”

Crabby, at best, I glared at this sight
Wondering how to get back to sleep
And still retain my insanity for keeps
“Now really why did you wake me tonight.”

The visage hit me with her wand
“You are a bit dense
And you’re always tense
Let go and you will find someone to be fond.”

“Love comes in all different flavors
Open your eyes and heart
Was the message tonight right from the start
So, do yourself a favor.”

She was gone in a blink
Leaving me startled in the dark
At least the dogs no longer barked
I savored her words and it made me think

Love has stages and ages
And can’t always be
Measured the same for everybody
I just needed to open my heart before I became more aged

I snuggled back under my blankies
Soon my dogs settled back down
As my mind drifted around
I found that the fairy dust made me sneezey

well Liz, the way my leg joint is hurting, I'd trade love just to get rid of the pain, which is driving me insane, loves good though, but if you're not physically hurting, love that, a good timely poem for valentines, letting feelings fly, cause they won't lie, cheers

Some of the best wisdom is imparted in the loveliest, most domestic ways, without preach or ceremony, Elizabeth, and that's what makes this charming and worthwhile.

Haha!! Instead of grand revelations you found that you were allergic to the old crone! Actually she did impart some wise wisdom. Wise wisdom? If it is wisdom it go without saying it is wise, so why'd I say it. Maybe she hit me over the head with dat dere wand . . . gotta love it . . .
